Mouse News Round-up for 10/18/10

Ah, news! Last week, Epic Mickey painted up a show at New York Comic-Con. A report from the show stated that the game's finishing cutsceane is an emotional, end that made a tear shed from Warren Spector. It will be fun to see what that end is when the game ships Nov. 30th. Also, some of the Mickey Mouse Works shorts are now on the web, including Mickey's Cabin, my fave. One of the shorts in the Mickey to the Rescue series that I talked about in my 2nd post appears as well. Lastly, the first in a series of novels starring Mickey by Yours Truly got in the writing process last week. The books are titled The Dark Kingdom and put Mickey on a quest to save Disney Parks. The first book is slanted for release on Dec. 14, 2011. Details to follow. Also on Epic Mickey, new art from the graphic novel appeared today via the game's Facebook page. See Ya Real Soon!

Ah, Choices Pt. 1

Player choice, it is my favorite element in all of video gaming, and The Mouse gets a taste of it this holiday. This is the first in a series of posts focusing on the choices in Epic Mickey. They will go on before, during, and after the time I play the game. Now on to the choice. In an early part of the game, Mickey comes across a caged gremlin. You are probably thinking just free the little guy. But attached to the cage is a chest of E tickets, your in-game money. You get the tickets, the little guy can't be saved, but you save him the same thing happens to the chest. I will go for the chest, I mean, E tickets are classic Disney! Comment on what you would do! Running now until Sept. 9th the nerdy expo's keynote speaker was Warren Spector. The head of Epic Mickey! He had a lot of neat things about how games should sit right next to books and movies. The name of the castle featured in concept art was also announced, Dark Beauty Castle will likely be the first part of the game. EPIC!!!!!! See Ya Real Soon!

Birth By Bret

I am proud to be able to say that Bret Iwan will be the next voice of Mickey, replacing the late Wayne Allwine, who died last year of diabetes at the age of 62 after voicing Mickey for 32 years. Bret started doing the voice last year doing small things like a toy and Disney on Ice. His first full performance as Mickey will be for the next installment in the Kingdom Hearts video game franchise, Birth By Sleep., out Tuesday See Ya Real Soon!

Something EPIC Pt. 3- Playstyle Matters

Sorry I did not post on yesterday as promised, but here's the deal with this post, Mickey will have two main abilities in the game, Paint and Paint Thinner. If Mickey uses mostly Paint, he will focus on restoring The Wasteland and helping everyone in it. If he uses mostly Thinner he will focus on erasing, saving The Wasteland as a whole and stopping the villain. Rather than helping everyone. These choices will change the outcome of the game. Final Note: Some people are saying that the game comes out Sep. 16th. If that is true, I will continue to post about it until when I hope to get it this holiday season. See ya real soon!
